Welcome Brad. Hope you enjoy.

Cut, Thanks for the information. I need to see how far the stuffing box is below the water line to see if this is feasible. This would be so much better than having to pull the boat. Thanks, Rob

Hello AD! I read your shout about the leaky shaft/ bearing hose.
2 years ago I had a bad throughull fitting that needed replacement (bronze frozen, leaking and turning pink). I did not want to pull the boat. I placed two 30 gallon garbage cans on the opposite side of the boat along the rail and filled them with water to heel the boat over at the dock so the fitting was out of the water...and repaired it dry!
You could do the same by putting the same excessive water ballast weight way up and out on the bow which would likely lift the aft and the shaft high enough out of the water for a dry comfortable fix. Pitch pole the boat at the dock! Make sense? Just a thought, Regards, Cut

Cut,

Thanks for the information. I need to see how far the stuffing box is below the water line to see if this is feasible. This would be so much better than having to pull the boat.

Thanks,
