O Brother where art thou. Soggy Bottom Boys..need I say more.

Second Hand lions (old guys with integrity, shotguns and a 100' yacht in their pond.....just makes me smile)

Cptn Ron (why does Kelli always pause it at the K.Russell speedo scene...)

late 60's to mid 80's blues and guitar greats & most light jazz(hey, I'm aging)

Reggae, Buffett and some C&W to mix it up.

When I retire I'll read something besides sailing rags, until then......

Sailing.....is there more?

Basically love speed but it's worn me down;). So out with the motor sports and now we're simplifying our interests to just sailing.

Lifetime Sarasota native married for 28yrs to a really sweet gal, Kelli.

Raced/sailed Hobies(off/on for a couple decades. It was a speed thing), sailboards and crewed OPBs but really enjoyed big wind and bigger waves while sailing offshore. Been boating/camping/fishing and using the islands, bays and inlets from Boca to B-town since I was a kid, and yeah it's changed alot.

Sarasota dock prices are beyond us so we mostly trailer our boats or search out friendly vacant docks(an uncorked bottle of your fav blend for any good leads!!). It's now mostly about casual cruising and doing west coast weekend cruising runs when we can find a warden for our 2 teens.

Fair winds,

Many Hobie cats and a weird attraction to wave sailing with them that progressed into high performance windsurfing/wavesailing from Hawaii to Maine and Puerto Rico to Seattle for about 20yrs. Got too creaky and finally bought a mono hull.

Currently:
In a 2004 Hunter 26. I've been told I need a larger boat, a/c and an even larger blender so I can act my age;).

Too many power boats.

The idea of starting a ntl police force introduced by the same guy that would drastically limit gun owners rights is merely a similar image of two events that took place in the 30's by a leader and excellent orator voted into office from a wildly passionate electorate. I'm sure it's only a coincidence and as an independent voter I support our system where the president is thankfully held in check by congress and the senate.

My poorly worded point was that many promises are made in sound bites during an election (as the cartoon implied)which in retrospect are only ridiculous empty concepts to please the audience of the day. People that listen closely will realize most of the politicians empty ideas could hopfully never happen. On the other hand our baby democracy is being modified daily by over zealous legislators. only time will tell if the changes are actually good or not. Certainly meant no offense.

Captain Ross,

How's it going? I've got some time off over the next couple wks. Hope we can get together over lunch or a beer. Raftup at marVista seemed sorta hard to relax between the tight anchorage/wind/itenerary demands. Give me a call anytime. I'm buyin'. Michael

Call me when you have a chance to look up tomorrow. Talk to you soon.

Hi Mike & Kelli,

Thanks for the invite! We'll have to take a raincheck tho. Too much to do after going off to sail for 3 weekends. We'll do it again soon!

Hi Mike& Kelli,

Yes, It was great to see you both and we had a nice sail back to SSS (with the exception of that upwind motor from mrkr 22 to 17 which reminded me to scrape the prop and keel soon..) We're putting together a quick overnite very much like last weekend for this weekend to Buttonwood(open to alternative locations suggestions) with another boat. Hopefully my schedule will soon allow more than "one night stands" for these occassions. We'd be delighted to have you(and Ross & Kaye too) join us. The more the merrier!

Hey guys, thanks for the nice comments on the boat. She is a fine vessel and we have been real happy with her. We were camping in Sarasota and we had just stopped at the boat ramp at Tenth street so I could walk over to the new Publix to resupply. Thats why the main is a mess. I'll let everyone know when we get back down there.
