Mike and Walt set sail out of Sarasota Sailing Squadron Friday morning at 7am. Seas were 4-5 foot with rolling swells holding an average of 6 knots. Mike won the race to Venice, Walt took the trophy on the way to Stump pass and again by two boat lengths at St James city. Mike and Walt hit the ditch passed Fort Myers at around noon on Saturday. By the way Mike added that the ditch is absolutely beautiful right now and took the outer rim instead crossing Okeechobee. Mike and Walt passed through the locks without a hitch. Just an FYI right now it is hard (next to impossible ) to find Diesel passed Fort Myers until you get to St Lucie. Mike said Rowan and Martins is a must stop for a burger. He also said to make sure to have your Bino's out and ready. The wildlife is amazing! Walter has only fell asleep 3 or 4 times. The tell tail sign is when Lady Q does tight circles with a rumbling snore from the cockpit:) More to come.......

The lake water level graph shows a huge rise since June when we last considered this trip. Haven't had a chance to run across the lake in the boat but your story is a prompt to consider it for our 2wk Fall run. Thanks for the quick report. Michael
