Two people were rescued Sunday afternoon after the boat they were on overturned leaving them stranded in the water.
St. Petersburg Fire Rescue says units responded to a report that a catamaran boat capsized leaving two people in the water near Shell Island without personal floatation devices.
The male victim was immediately found but his female companion was missing.
After about an hour of searching with four rescue boats and two helicopters, the woman was found.
Both victims were treated and transported to Bayfront Medical Hospital in stable condition.
Fire rescue marine units along with the Coast Guard, the Pinellas County Sheriffs Office and Eckerd College dive unit responded to the scene.
