Ahoy Jeff,

Was not able to attend event due to health issues.  Gang experienced very high winds.  Had to seek shelter in Hidden Cove on Shallow Bay, Boulder Basin for Saturday and Sunday.  Talk now of moving spring event later in month of April.  Issue is the higher temperatures as we get into later Spring time.  The 10th annual Las Vegas Bay Macgregor Association Founders' Cup Race won by or member Newell with his "new" 1986 MacGregor 26D "Wind Chaser", given up his usual 1996 MacGregor 26X "Fast Sunday" to do it, lol.  This is the second cup that Newell has won.  BTW the "cup" is a stainless steel Coleman coffee cup, engraved "LVBMA Founders' Day, 2009", lol.  Last boat in race receives plaque "LVBMA 2009 BITTER end" award with end spelled out with yellow polycord, lol.  Usually have about 12-15 boats in race with about half continuing on to the Mead Madness Sail for the week on Lake Mead.

Sorry you're not running at full speed.  Hopefully you'll have sails up and a smile on your face very soon.

Hi Capt.  Back in the 80s and early 90s we kept our boat in the Temple Bar Marina.  Sailed there for many years.  What a great place Lake Mead is.  I especially loved the eastern basins since there was seldom a crowd.  Happy Sailing.
