Spring arrived at City Marina with winds steady at 25-28 and gusts at 10 minute durations of 41. Bay became quickly confused and waves crashed over the seawall. Not a good day to be in the bay. Better off staying in port wishing you were in the bay. As Billy Joel sings, Bottle of wine, etc...

Hi Richmuro, Actually Destiny is in Panama City, and I'm not award of a pig roast, but it sounds like fun. Little cold here in the Florida Panhandle this weekend for sailing. I'm so looking forward to warmer climates. Thanks for popping in. Fairwinds, Patti

Hi Patti,

Was up in your neck of the gulf (Destin area) a few weeks ago on a job assignment.

Absolutely beautiful !
Giving some serious though on heading north instead of south this May.

Had a great sailing weekend last weekend.  Destiny was nicely heeled and moving on average at 4.5 knots.  The bay was fairly empty of other boats so we had free range and little to worry about, just find the wind, kick back and glide through the waters.  Capt Rick of Sidetracked came out to "play" and made serveral tacks to come along side and "buddy" boat for a while.  Nice to have sailing buds.  All in all a very relaxing day even with two novice sailors on board.  Looks like pilots just naturally take to sailing.  Man I love my boat...

Having a boat is like having a child.  You have to tend it well and hope that when you're out of town someone you trust will watch it for you.  I'm blessed.  I am in one of the best and tightest knit boating communities anywhere. This Sunday morning coming down, caught me in Orlando on business with a formed after midnight tropical depression in the Gulf, heading right towards my boat and home.  The home could handle it... but the boat?  6.5 hours away, storm already ahead of me, I called my marina and my great friend and harbor master knew without even checking how many wraps I had around my headsail, the direction and speed of the wind, the predicted tides, and had checked my lines. When I said I was on my way back, he replied, "don't get on the road in bad weather, we got you covered."  Man do I ever love boating and my boating buds.  Thanks Bill, Thanks City Marina.  Really Thanks,

Thanks we are all fine  . The girls are on a Carnavell Cruise for 4 days. I miss seeing you at the boat. I washed some for the ash off your boat from July 4th, but she wants your attention. Hope your recovery is going well and you'll be back on the water soon. Working is keeping me out of touch and off the water more than I want but times are tuff so I'll work while I can. See ya soon I hope Rick

Hey there slip buddy, miss seeing you all.  Peter left for Africa this morning. Hate to lose my sailing bud, but Hot air balloon safari's and Kenya is his bliss so I'm really happy for him.  Hope all is well with you guys and gals.  See you soon at the dock.
Hugs,
Patti
