I agree with your observation that the high end rums offered by the big companies tend to be pretty good. We'll have to organize a tasting at the next raftup.
Hey Rumhead, First time I've come across your page. Congrats on your new vessel. She looks real nice. Re: 10 Cane rum: It's overpriced and only good for making mojitos, in my book. I much prefer the Capt. Morgan Private Stock, Goslings, Myers, and Mount Gay. I also had a sample of Pyrat rum made by Patron while in Maryland that I found truly magnificent, but I suspect you may have made her aquaintance given your "pyrat" blog?
Being new to the site, I'm not sure where to reply to the comment you left for me. So I'm going to try here and hope I don't get booted out. Re: Ten Cane Rum, I want to try it but it's just not "rum" color. It's kind of a sissy yellow. Not sure if all the other sailors will laugh at me. Well, any more than normal.
You left the comment in the right place. Alot of sailors say that Cane rum is great. I bought a bottle but had to much Admiral Nelson to give it a try that night. Ill try it in Key West this weekend and let you know how it is. Have a great day .
